1. How long have you been with Spacer?

Hi Irene, thanks for setting up this interview!  I started a year ago as an intern at Spacer. Since then I worked part time over my American school year, first as a Growth Strategist and then as the US Operations Manager.  I am now back again for the American summer working on a full time basis in my role as the US Operations Manager.

2. What do you enjoy about working for Spacer?

The awesome part of working in a sharing economy startup is that what we do impacts thousands of people.  Our platform creates a supplemental income for our hosts and provides desperately needed space for our renters. Everything that we do to improve the user experience helps those in our network.  I most enjoy watching as our team efficiently matches supply with demand and creates an organic marketplace that would otherwise not have existed.

3. When you have free time, what are you doing?

I’m a startup person.  I love startups and business.  I’m studying Applied Math and Statistics and Economics at Johns Hopkins University.  One of the things I’m involved with at at Uni is a student run venture capital fund. I am an investor at A-Level Capital, where we back startups with Hopkins founders across the world.

4. Hoarder, collector or minimalist?

This is a hard one.  I think there are two competing parts of my brain.  One of which is a collector and the other a minimalist.

5. If hoarder/collector, what do you tend to hoard/collect?

Study notes for me and my friends at Uni.

6. What do you like most about what Spacer offers?

I like that Spacer offers its’ hosts to list their spaces for free.  We go out and advertise the spaces, yet we don’t charge our hosts.

7. What is your secret talent?

I can name at least two famous politicians from each of the 50 states.

8. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?

Silicon Valley, California
